Getting to know Louis
The inadvertent expat blogger behind Blue Shore Trail

Hi, I’m Louis
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Paris, France.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was cultural shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Blue Shore Trail
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—practical advice drawn from real life in France.

Looking Forward
Our stay in France continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we uncover.
